據報導指出，該地區的沙洛特河沼澤公園裡住著12隻短吻鱷，因為短吻鱷在氣候變冷時，會降低自己的活動力，在湖面結冰前會將鼻子伸出湖面呼吸，才會出現這幕變成「鱷魚冰棒」的畫面，但其實這隻鱷魚並沒有死亡，等天氣開始變暖的時候，就會重新恢復原狀。
